How the ranking works

Every business is scored the same way in every ZIP code, and no one can pay to move up: ranking position is never for sale. For licensed trades, we check each contractor's California state license and show the number so anyone can confirm it at cslb.ca.gov. We write out exactly how the ranking is put together on our methodology page, so there is no secret to it.

Built to be found by AI assistants

When someone asks an assistant like ChatGPT for a local pro, it can only name businesses whose information it can actually read. Every listing here spells out the basics, name, location, phone, and license, in a form these assistants can pick up cleanly. A correct, claimed listing is a listing they can quote.

Common questions

Am I already listed?

There's a good chance. MyLocalZip lists 7,932 local pros across San Diego County, built from public records rather than from sign-ups. Look for yourself in your ZIP code first.

What does a listing cost?

Nothing. Adding or correcting a listing is free, and it always will be. There is no plan to buy and no upgrade that moves you up the page.

Can I pay to rank higher?

No. Every business is scored the same way in every ZIP code, and ranking position is never for sale. Paid services, if you ever choose them, do not affect where you rank.

How do I fix a wrong phone number or service area?

Email contact@mylocalzip.com with your business name and the correction. Include your CSLB license number if you want your verified license shown. A correction only keeps your details accurate; it never changes your position.

Can I have my listing removed?

Yes. Ask by email and we remove it. Listings are compiled from public records, so nothing here is a claim of ownership over your business.
