MyLocalZip is a directory built from public records. It asks for nothing to browse, and the only personal detail it ever stores is an email address you type in yourself.

What we collect
One thing: an email address, and only when you submit it on the free visibility check. We use it to send you that result, and, if you asked to join the waitlist, to tell you when the next round of free checks opens. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Browsing the directory takes no account and no sign-up. There is no newsletter subscribe in the background and no tracking pixel from an ad network.
Hosting and measurement
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. When traffic measurement is enabled for a build, it loads Google Analytics 4, which reports aggregate traffic: how many people arrived, from where, and which pages they read. Server logs also record automated crawler visits, which is how we see whether search engines and AI assistants are reading the directory.
Business listings are public records
Listings are compiled from public data: OpenStreetMap, used under the Open Database License (ODbL) with attribution, and the California Contractors State License Board public rosters. A business does not sign up to be listed, and nothing on a listing comes from a private source.
If you own a listed business and something is wrong, or you would rather not be listed at all, email us and we will correct or remove it.
